Antonio Samudio(1934)
Antonio Samudio is a Colombian artist whose work is characterized by
his unique view of daily occurrences and objects.
He is intent in showing what goes beyond the obvious, giving a wonderful
sense of humor to his atmospheres, always a step apart from that which
is in vogue or popular. He plays with the absurd, shows minute mutations
and evokes that which goes beyond the obvious in daily scenes.
The painter’s imagination is as fertile as his techniques, which
include classical use of paint, collage, photomontages and an ample variety
of graphic arts techniques for his limited edition prints and art books.
Samudio has an extensive curriculum that includes gallery, art fair and
museum and exhibitions throughout Latin America, Europe and the United
States.
