Camilo Franqui (1956)Camilo Franqui's Cuban heritage is juxtaposed to his European childhood, which was graced with meeting and being influenced from a very early age by masters such as Joan Miro and Pablo Picasso. His admiration of painting's classics, such as Rousseau's wildernesses are also evident in his paintings and often appear as reinterpretations upon his canvases. The artist is essentially self-taught, having had the good fortune of always being surrounded by art, art dealers and famous artists.
