Juan Ramón Velazquez (1950)

Painter Juan Ramón Velázquez was born in Río Piedras, PR, in 1950.

In 1972, he obtained a bachelor's in business administration from Universidad de PR. He won first prize for drawing from Ateneo Puertorriqueño in 1973 and from United Federal Savings, PR, in 1975.

Velázquez has had numerous individual exhibitions:
Museo de la Universidad de PR, 1972 & 1974; Museo de Arte de Ponce, PR, 1976; and Meza Fine Art, FL, 1994.

His work also was included in many group exhibitions: Trilogía, Museo de Arte de Ponce, PR, 1981; Art Expo, NY, 1982; and Recientes desarrollos en el dibujo latinoamericano, Art Institute, Chicago, 1987.
